Now, you know, even in SL there are those AVs that reach “Paris Hilton” levels of fame. I am so not impressed by that level of fame. I am impressed by the level of fame Wullie Craig has reached. His fame was achieved with talent, skill and might I be so bold as to say…ever so mellow personality. In the couple of times I have met him, he has always been calm, polite, and well mellow. A friend introduced him to SL. “When I found {SL} I jumped right in.” As he sat across from me in his studio, he explained “A deep rooted interest in virtual tech I guess I have been waiting for stuff like this for years.” That was a little over a year ago. In the early days of exploring and meeting people, he met Tom Eagle. He and Tom created Destroy, Inc. Now these collaborators hold their SL strategy meetings in real life, which is based in Scotland.Destroy, Inc started out as a small shop, in a mall in SL, selling t-shirts. The shirts gained in popularity because Wullie and Tom were the first to bring reggae culture into SL. OH MON‼ You have got to check out the store now! Wullie and Tom built the store and all the furniture in it. They created all the signs and textures. They have used bold colors in an unobnoxious way. Cause this chic loves to shop, let me tell you, this place is very organized. You can easily find exactly what you want. Not only that, their items are unique, well made and interesting. The best part of the whole store: CUSTOM TATTOOS‼ Wullie adds “We introduced them towards the end of 2006 and they sold well so we made more.” Ooooo, couples, want a truly signature gift for your special someone? Get matching custom tattoos! Don’t know what to give someone? Give them a tattoo! Wullie says the “tattoos on the wall {of the store} are on general sale for a fraction of the custom price.” Are you inked in real life? Proud of your tat? You can have it recreated for your AV. When you go to Destroy, Inc. go to the second floor. There you will find an online order form. The form inquires as to all the requirements of your body art. The form is sent via email to Tom Eagle. Tom and Wullie keep a dialogue with you until all the specs of your tattoo are finalized. Then, you leave ‘em alone to do their magic. “I am tattooed in real life and both Tom and myself have an interest in graphic design outside SL.” Wullie continues: “these tattoos can be very complex and take several weeks to complete.” Using sophisticated graphics programs, such as Photoshop cs3 and other 3D applications, “SL is not the best medium to do this. It has awkward stretches but we have become familiar with these areas and know to avoid them.”When your tattoo is complete, they drop it in your inventory. Keep in mind the more sophisticated your tattoo, for example a full body tattoo will cost more than a simple tribal tat on your lower back. “Our pricing reflects the time scale and skill involved. To be honest, we were asked to do some jobs that no other tattoo studio in SL would touch. When we priced the jobs, one was $200 USD. The customer said no problem go ahead.” That smooth talkin Wullie could charm you into any price. Trust me.Put Destroy, Inc. on your list of places to visit in SL.
